Fridolin "Frido" Hütter (born August 3, 1950 in Graz ) is an Austrian journalist. He was a member of the editor-in-chief of the Kleine Zeitung .

Life

Hütter grew up in the East Styrian market Hartmannsdorf and then graduated in Gleisdorf . He studied medicine, English and history before graduating from the Pedagogical Academy in Graz.

Hütter worked as a teacher for a year before he followed Gerfried Sperl's call and started working as a media and cultural journalist for the Kleine Zeitung. He headed both departments from the 1980s to February 2013 and was also a member of the editor-in-chief.

During these decades, Hütter wrote thousands of commentaries on media, culture and politics as well as hundreds of reports and essays. His contributions have appeared in: Neue Zürcher Zeitung , Die Zeit , Die Presse , Stuttgarter Zeitung , Ö1 , 3sat , RAI and BBC, among others . He presents his expertise in national and international rock and pop music in television formats such as Wurlitzer (1985), World Famous in Austria - 50 Years of Austropop (2008), Austropop made in Styria (2012) and Austropop Legends (2015-2016). Furthermore, he can be seen again and again in his role as a culture journalist in TV programs such as Stöckl , ErLesen and Österreich-Bild (and many more).

In 2014, the first book was published called Dank an die Grille . For the presentation, castle actor Peter Simonischek read from the work, which includes several short stories. In 2017, the sequel Sunday with Linde followed with further, often autobiographical, stories from the travel-heavy life of Hütter.

In addition, he worked as a moderator for various public figures, e. B. for Heinz Fischer , Elke Heidenreich , Alfred Gusenbauer , Erika Pluhar , André Heller , Harald Krassnitzer , Adele Neuhauser , Robert Menasse and many more. As a juror he participated in the Romy (Austrian Film Prize), the Nestroy Theater Prize , Undine Awards , the Diagonale Acting Prize and the Mountain Film Festival Graz .

He appeared as a guest lecturer at the FH Joanneum , the University of Klagenfurt and the University of Zurich .

Hütter lives in Graz, is married and has a daughter.
