Retaliation is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The film starring Harald Krassnitzer as Austrian investigator Moritz Eisner was first broadcast on March 6, 2011. In his 24th case, Eisner works for the first time with Bibi Fellner ( Adele Neuhauser ), who was previously with the " custom ". Tanja Raunig also took on the role of Eisner's daughter Claudia for the first time, previously played by Sarah Tkotsch .

For the third time, a legally convicted juvenile violent criminal was killed in the same way. At the scene of the crime, Chief Inspector Moritz Eisner learns that Bibi Fellner, an alcohol-addicted colleague from the moral police, is supposed to support him in his investigation. Eisner's objections to his superior Ernst Rauter were unsuccessful. The first clues lead the investigators into the Dr. Jochen Schmitz managed the Pro Youth facility , in which all three victims were to be rehabilitated. There, juveniles who have committed criminal offenses are offered therapeutic help to avoid imprisonment.
Celine Stein, the daughter of pop singer Jaqueline Stein, was also looked after at Pro Youth . After the young woman was attacked and beaten up, her life is in danger. Fellner believes that this can also happen to other young people who work for Dr. Schmitz were in treatment and warns Kira, a young woman she already knows from her time with the custom.
Reports from police files show that Celine and friends tortured and beat a former educator in a similar way to what has now happened to her. A visit to the woman, who is still being cared for as an inpatient, shows that Jochen Schmitz, the head of the youth facility, is her life partner and that she was pregnant in the attack at the time and that she also lost their child.
When Fellner comes home that evening, Kira is sitting in front of her door. She was also beaten up. The investigator takes the young woman in. Later she found evidence of a drug in the waste that made it insensitive to pain, but also made psychologically unstable, and that is widespread among young people.
Eisner and Fellner see on DVDs that Kira's mother's friend secretly recorded in the apartment that Kira was obviously friends with Jan Scheidl, one of the murder victims. In addition, they discover on other tapes from the subway, on which the murder of Scheidl can be seen, that the murderer has painted fingernails, which allows the conclusion that it could be a woman. Kira is now very suspicious. Meanwhile, Celine Stein dies in the clinic as a result of her serious injuries. In order to lure Kira out of the reserve, Bibi tells her that Celine is better and that they will soon find out who committed these acts. The plan works, because Kira immediately drives to the hospital to kill Celine. There she only meets Eisner and Fellner. In the course of the following conversation it emerges that Kira is supported by Dr. Schmitz was manipulated by means of psychological influence and medication and, as it were, abused as a murder tool. Eisner and Fellner want Kira to help them, Dr. To expose Schmitz, but Kira is able to escape and armed with a knife immediately drives to Dr. Schmitz. Eisner and Fellner take up the pursuit. When you arrive at the facility you can hear gunshots in the stairwell. When they come into the apartment, Kira is already dead on the floor. She has Dr. Schmitz was injured with a knife, but had to pay for it with her life.

Harald Krassnitzer said in the ARD morning magazine about retaliation and his other crime scene episodes that they all go back to real cases and had been researched accordingly.

The first broadcast in Germany was seen in Das Erste by 8.33 million viewers (market share 22.9%), which was the highest rate for a crime scene produced by ORF since 2001.
