Gisela Salcher (born May 14, 1969 in Waidhofen an der Ybbs ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

Gisela Salcher attended drama school at the Volkstheater in Vienna , which she graduated in 1993. She then played at the Landestheater Coburg , followed by an engagement at the Thalia Theater in Halle (Saale) . They also worked as an actress at the Burgtheater , the State Theater of Lower Austria , at the State Theater Innsbruck , at the City Theater Brunico , at the Theater Fürth and at other stages. From 1999 to 2002 Salcher was a member of Peter Stein's Faust Ensemble . She has lived in Vienna again since 2002. In addition to her work at the theater, she increasingly played roles in numerous film and television productions. In the Arte / ZDF / ORF documentary about Queen Victoria in 2019, she played the role of Victoria as a mature woman, alongside Franziska Singer as a young Viktoria.

Salcher is a member of the Academy of Austrian Films .
