The Agricultural Central Association of the Province of Saxony was a farming organization in the Province of Saxony .

history

In 1842, the agricultural associations of the Province of Saxony merged to form the Agricultural Central Association of the Province of Saxony. The central associations of the duchies of Anhalt and Gotha were later merged with the Central Association.

In 1859, the Agricultural Central Association of the Province of Saxony founded the experimental station in Salzmünde for scientific research and investigations . The director was Johann Gottfried Boltze , who also provided the premises and fields. In 1865 the experimental station was relocated to Halle. From 1859 to 1866 Hubert Grouven (1831–1884) headed the station and created some pioneering works on field research. The most important head of the experimental station was Max Maercker (1842–1901), who headed the institute from 1871 to 1901. In 1874 the experimental station got its own institute building in Halle. In 1895 the Chamber of Agriculture for the Province of Saxony was formed in Halle. This was done by the agricultural chemical experimental station.

Since it was founded, the association has published the “Journal of the Agricultural Central Association of the Province of Saxony”.

In the time of National Socialism

After the seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933 , the agricultural association and the Chamber of Agriculture has been brought into line and the Reich transferred or the country's peasantry Saxony-Anhalt. In 1945 the VdgB Sachsen-Anhalt was established in the SBZ .
