Moritz Eisner is a fictional detective from the crime series Tatort, played by Harald Krassnitzer . In addition to Vienna, he also investigates in Innsbruck , Linz , in the further Tyrolean region as well as in Carinthia and Styria .

His first case, Never Again Opera , was broadcast on January 17, 1999. In his 24th case on March 6, 2011, Retaliation , Eisner first worked with Bibi Fellner , played by Adele Neuhauser , who has supported him ever since. Most recently, Eisner , who works for the Ministry of the Interior , has the rank of lieutenant colonel, while Fellner has that of major.

The ORF has been sending its own investigators to the crime scene since the series began in autumn 1970 . Eisner has been investigating since 1999, and since he is regarded as a specialist, his superior department calls him over and over again when particularly difficult cases need to be solved. He is therefore not only a member of the Vienna Homicide Commission, but is also sent to other Austrian federal states , where he receives a team that has been put together especially for him.

Moritz Eisner has the rank of chief inspector, later majors, currently lieutenant colonel, and is also employed by the interior ministry as a special investigator. He is a loner and often follows his intuition , which is not insignificant for his success at work. Because of his Viennese humiliation , he has a special way of dealing with suspects and building trust with them, which means that they reveal more to him than they intended. Major Bibi Fellner worked for the moral police for many years before she was put at Eisner's side. At first she struggles with her alcohol addiction, which leads to serious problems between her and Eisner, who at first doesn't want her as an employee. “I need an assistant, not a wreck!” He comments when Fellner is assigned retribution in their first joint case . After a serious conversation between the two of them, he believes her that she will get her alcohol problem under control. Fellner is very thin-skinned and found it hard to bear the misery that was brought to her every day in the custom, which is why she sought refuge in alcohol.

The character of Bibi Fellner was created because Eisner has a partner in her with whom he can “reflect on experiences and because a woman has a different approach to logic and is more emotional.” The investigator drives a Pontiac Firebird , which is the “debt collection agent”.
