Kleinwinklarn is a district of the town of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .

geography

Kleinwinklarn is about five kilometers southeast of Neunburg vorm Wald. The place is located on the Atzenbach, which arises about 500 meters further south from the confluence of the Kitzenriederbach and Bodenmühlbach and flows about 500 meters further north into the Rötzerbach.

history

The name Kleinwinklarn is derived from the Old High German winkli, which denotes an area enclosed by hills and forests. Kleinwinklarn was initially called Winklarn, but was then called Kleinwinklarn to distinguish it from the Winklarn market . In 1860 a school building was built in Kleinwinklarn, which was extended in 1880.

The Herz-Jesu-Kirche in Kleinwinklarn was built in 1905. It has a Sacred Heart statue that the sculptor Karl Mauermann made in 1945. In 1946 a sacristy was added to the church.

From 1946 to 1948 Meißenberg , Wenigrötz and Poggersdorf belonged to Kleinwinklarn. In 1949 Wenigrötz and Poggersdorf were again incorporated into Penting and Meißenberg became an independent municipality.

On March 23, 1913, Kleinwinklarn belonged to the Seebarn parish , consisted of 24 houses and had 120 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990 Kleinwinklarn had 214 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald.
