Unteraschau is a district of the town of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .

geography

Unteraschau is about a kilometer north of Neunburg vorm Wald on the Ascha , which flows into the Schwarzach a little further southwest . State road 2398 runs along the western edge of Unteraschau and connects Neunburg vorm Wald with Oberviechtach and the B 22 .

history

The name Unteraschau is derived from the Ascha river. The "Unter-" refers to the fact that both Mitter and Oberaschau are closer to the source of the Ascha than Unteraschau.

In 1273 Unteraschau was first mentioned in a document as "Nidern Ascha". Unteraschau was listed in 1283 with three courtyards and a mill. Ruhland der Göttlinger, who at that time was judge and Kastner in Waldmünchen and Schwarzenburg , passed a judgment in 1305 on the tithe from three farms in Unteraschach, which belonged to the Schönthal monastery and whose tithe Adelhaid von Niwnburg (= Neunburg) was entitled to for life .

On March 23, 1913 Unteraschau was part of the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald, consisted of twelve houses and had 72 inhabitants.

On December 31, 1990 Unteraschau had 52 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald.
