Pissau is a district of the city of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .
geography
Pissau is about five kilometers west of Neunburg vorm Wald and about 500 meters north of State Road 2398 , which connects Neunburg vorm Wald with Bodenwöhr . State road 2151 runs two kilometers south in the direction of Schwarzenfeld .
history
The name Pissau derives from the Au of a Piso or it has Slavic origin and means settlement on the sand (Pisek). In 1390 Bertelin the Zenger was the owner of the Leuchtenberg fiefs at Pissau and Pingarten. In 1586 a letter of purchase reports on several goods from Pissau.
In 1871, Pissau was parried from Schwarzhofen to Penting . On March 23, 1913, Pissau was part of the Penting parish, consisted of eleven houses and had 62 inhabitants.
On December 31, 1990, Pissau had 63 inhabitants and belonged to the Penting parish.
