history

In 1273 Pettendorf was first mentioned in a document with the name "Pennedorf". 1326 the place is called "Penndorf". This indicates a village settlement of a Penno or Benno. The Pettendorf family, whose late Gothic castle, Pettendorf Castle, is still preserved, owned Pettendorf until the 15th century. His coat of arms showed a black ring in a white field, while the Franconian Pettendorfer had a silver ring in a red coat of arms. Seifried von Pettendorf was mentioned as early as 1150 when he handed over an estate in Swendet to the Ensdorf monastery. Abbot Ulrich of the Benedictine monastery St. Emmeram in Regensburg came from the Pettendorfer family .

In 1495 Pettendorf belonged to Rupert Uttinger, Kastner zu Cham . He had a son Wolf, who lived in Pettendorf in 1520. Lorenz von Plassenberg zu Gilgenberg was the owner of Pettendorf in 1540. After his death, his widow married Margareth David Kastner, who became the owner of Pettendorf through marriage. When he died, his brother Hans Wilhelm came into the possession of Pettendorf through the marriage of Margareth. In 1592 Margareth burned in the castle of Schnaittenbach .

Hans Jakob Lindlhart, judge at Winklarn , bought Pettendorf in 1597. He became a judge in Cham in 1617, but had to leave the country for religious reasons in 1630. Hans Ulrich owned Pettendorf in 1652. When he died without children, Pettendorf fell to the Bavarian elector .

The next owners of Pettendorf in 1661 were Hans Christoph von Grafenreuth, 1664 Lochner von Palnitz, 1679 Christoph Jobst Bernhard von Satzenhofen zu Wilbersdorf, caretaker at Nabburg , in 1687 his son Johann Friedrich and after 1704 his son Franz Siegmund, the Teutonic Knight . From 1717 to 1782 Pettendorf belonged to the family of Hans Georg von Zehmann.

This was followed as the owner of Pettendorf in 1784 by Johann Georg von Mosburg auf Schwarzeneck, in 1798 by Wenzl Schedl von Greifenstein and, as the last, the barons of Ott.

On March 23, 1913, Pettendorf was part of the Schwarzhofen parish , consisted of eight houses and had 62 inhabitants.

In 1922, Pettendorf was parried from Schwarzhofen to Neunburg vorm Wald.

On December 31, 1990, Pettendorf had 82 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald.
