Wenigrötz is a district of the city of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .

geography

Wenigrötz is located about five kilometers southeast of Neunburg vorm Wald am Rötzerbach. This arises about four kilometers further east at the Stettnermühle from the confluence of the Multbach and Hückbach and flows into the Schwarzach about six kilometers further northwest in Neunburg vorm Wald .

history

Wenigrötz originated as a settlement of Rötzer citizens. The name Wenigrötz means "the smaller Rötz."

The place was first mentioned in a document on April 28, 1017 as Rétsiz inferior in a deed of donation from Emperor Heinrich II to the Archdiocese of Bamberg, issued in Ingelheim . At that time, Wenigrötz, a number of other places in the Nordgau, came to the diocese created on January 1, 1007 from parts of Würzburg and Bamberg .

In 1870 Wenigrötz consisted of six houses and had 37 residents.

On December 31, 1990, Wenigrötz had 35 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald.
