Wutzelskühn is a district of the city of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .

Wutzelskühn is about five kilometers southwest of Neunburg vorm Wald and one kilometer from the district Penting on a ridge above the Schwarzachtal.

history

The name Wutzelskühn means "settlement with the children of Wozzi". Other versions were Wozazchindin, Gutzeinschinden, Guontzeschinden. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1150 as a gift from Wernherr von Ascha to the convent .

On March 23, 1913, Wutzelskühn was part of the Penting parish, consisted of six houses and had 49 residents.

Wutzelskühn was part of the former municipality of Penting and was incorporated into Neunburg vorm Wald in 1978.

On December 31, 1990 Wutzelskühn had 66 inhabitants and belonged to the parish Penting.

The former Penting station is located in Wutzelskühn on the Bodenwöhr – Rötz railway line, which was closed in 1994 . Two supraregional cycle paths run on the railway line that has been converted into a cycle path:

  • Regen-Schwarzach-Radweg (RS), connects the Schwarzachtalradweg in Neunburg vorm Wald with the Regentalradweg in Nittenau
  • Upper Palatinate Seenland Cycle Path (OSL), a circular cycle path in the Upper Palatinate Lake District
