Stockarn is a district of the town of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .
geography
Stockarn is about seven kilometers east of Neunburg vorm Wald and south of the state road 2151 on the north bank of the Eixendorftalsperre . To the north is the 633 meter high Rotenberg.
history
The name Stockarn (also Stokkaren, Stockchhorn) means stick, tree stump. Stockarn thus referred to a settlement of loggers.
In 1292 Chol von Schwarzeneck, Otto von Prachtelsdorfen and Cunrad von Murach each owned a farm in Stockarn, which they had received as a fief from Count Perenger von Leonsberg . They bequeathed their farms to Schönthal Abbey .
On March 23, 1913, Stockarn was part of the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald, consisted of eleven houses and had 74 residents.
On December 31, 1990 Stockarn had 38 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald.
