Diendorf is a district of the town of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .

geography

Diendorf is located about one kilometer southeast of Neunburg vorm Wald, west of the Eixendorfer reservoir, on state road 2151 , which connects Neunburg vorm Wald with the B 22 in Rötz .

history

Diendorf was first mentioned in a document on April 28, 1017 as "Tenindorf" in a deed of donation issued by Emperor Heinrich II to the Archdiocese of Bamberg in Ingelheim . At that time, with Diendorf, a number of other places in the Nordgau came to the diocese created on January 1st, 1007 from parts of Würzburg and Bamberg .

Diendorf is one of the oldest settlements in the Schwandorf district . The name Diendorf is derived from the personal name Tieno or mentioned in the St. Emmeram tradition from 975 to 1001 from the female “Tiema” or according to the tradition of the Freising Hochstift from 770 “Temo”.

On March 23, 1913, Diendorf was part of the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald, consisted of 11 houses and had 73 inhabitants.

On December 31, 1990 Diendorf had 59 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Neunburg vorm Wald.
