Meißenberg is a district of the town of Neunburg vorm Wald in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria .

Meißenberg is located about six kilometers southeast of Neunburg vorm Wald on the state road 2040 on the slope of the 428 m high Schellenberg.
history
The name Meißenberg (also: Messenberge, Meizenbach, Maigzenberg) is derived from the Old High German word mais for logging. Meißenberg was first mentioned in a document in 1136. In 1361 Chunrat von Thanstein and his brother Hiltprant owned Meißenberg. From 1946 to 1948 Meißenberg and Kleinwinklarn were combined into one municipality.
On March 23, 1913 Meißenberg belonged to the parish Neukirchen-Balbini , consisted of twelve houses and had 59 inhabitants.
On December 31, 1990 Meißenberg had 59 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Neukirchen-Balbini.
