Steiff Museum
The Steiff Museum is an adventure museum on the premises of Margarete Steiff GmbH in the Swabian town of Giengen an der Brenz .

The museum shows the history of the teddy bear and the company's history. On three floors you are guided through the 2,400 m² exhibition area with over 2000 exhibits. The visit begins in the sewing room of the company founder Margarete Steiff . Then Knopf and Frieda accompany the visitor in search of the three thousand missing bears that sank in a shipwreck. When Steiff products are shop-made, you can look over the shoulder of those who are approaching them.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 29, 2004, among others by Friedhelm and Joachim Steiff, direct descendants of Margarete Steiff's brother, and Lord Mayor Clemens Stahl.
The foundation stone was laid on May 12, 2004 . A replica of the “Elefäntle”, the first soft toy for children, a replica of the first teddy bear 55 PB , the book 100 years of Steiff teddy bears , two current daily newspapers, some coins and a certificate were poured into the foundation . Present were, among others, MP Marga Elser and MP Georg Brunnhuber . The topping-out ceremony was celebrated on August 30, 2004.
On the occasion of the company's 125th anniversary and as part of the Steiff Festival, Die Welt von Steiff was opened on June 23, 2005. The investment for the new Steiff Museum was 12 million euros.
planning
The building was designed by the Zurich architects Andreas Ramseier + Associates Ltd. The project management of the entrance area was carried out by wpm Projektmanagement GmbH , which was also active in the Berlin Reichstag building .
The scenography was developed by Milla & Partner, agency and studios . The agency was involved in the German pavilion at Expo 2000 . The artistic advice was taken over by the author and director Uli Brée , who staged the musical Teddy - a musical dream in 2002 .
