Aleksandar Tesla

Aleksandar Tesla (born August 29, 1973 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German actor .

Life

Tesla's parents are from Yugoslavia . They came to Frankfurt am Main in the 1960s, where they met and fell in love. His mother is Slovenian and his father is Serbian . Tesla grew up trilingual (Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, German) in Frankfurt am Main. Tesla has been a German citizen since 1997.

He gained his first acting experience in the student club of the Schauspiel Frankfurt . He first began studying business administration , which he broke off in 1996 in favor of acting. He then completed his acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 1996 to 2000 . From 2000 to 2005 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Nationaltheater Weimar . In 2004, he played the role of Arnold von Melchthal in Schiller's play Wilhelm Tell in a production by Stephan Märki at the Weimar National Theater in an open-air performance on the Swiss Rütli . He had other theater engagements at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden (2005/06 season), the State Theater Stuttgart (2005/06 season), the Schauspielhaus Bonn (2006/07 season), the Magdeburg Theater (2007/09 season), the BAT Theater in Berlin (2008) and at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (2011/12; as Jason in Medea ; director: Sarantos Zervoulakos ).

In 2010 he played a stage version of Orhan Pamuk's novel Schnee at the Berlin Theater Ballhaus Naunynstraße , directed by Hakan Savaş Mican ; his partners were u. a. Godehard Giese and Sesede Terziyan .

He made his cinema debut in 2001 with a small role in the film Taking Sides - Der Fall Furtwängler by István Szabó . In 2008 he shot the feature film Entzauberungen (working title: Rheingold ), for which he was nominated as “Best Actor” at the Munich Film Festival in 2010 .
