action
23-year-old Lena Liebling (Agnieszka Rozenbajgier) fulfills her dream of becoming an actress by getting a leading role in the famous play Closed Society by Jean-Paul Sartre . Lena's problem, however, is “love”: she has not yet found it. Her best friend Becky, on the other hand, as a successful prostitute, has the motto “that at the end of the day everything, including sex and love, is just work”. She even gets Lena to try out prostitution herself. Desperate for love, Lena finally agrees. She enters a strange world where free love is the norm, where bizarre slaves and even Jesus cross their path. Her situation becomes even more complicated when she falls in love with her director Dex White. Between work and pleasure, Lena also has to take care of her lonely father, Lothar Liebling ( Peter Kurth ), who suppresses the grief for his deceased wife by making other people laugh with his homemade balloon animals.
