Irina Popov

Irina Popow (born September 10, 1967 in Neubrandenburg ) is a German television director and former radio play and dubbing speaker .

Life

Popow grew up in the former German Democratic Republic (GDR).

From 1978 to 1987 she was a member of the children's speaking ensemble of the GDR radio for around 90 productions as a radio play speaker. From 1985 to 1987 she also worked as a voice actress. For example, she dubbed the twin Karoline in So a Struwwelpeter by Hansgeorg Stengel .

After studying acting for two years, she began working in film and television. She has been directing since 1987, initially until 1999 as assistant director for series episodes of Die Gläserne Fackel (1989), The Public Prosecutor Has the Word (1990), Polizeiruf 110 (1993) and Mama is Impossible (1997) as well as for the television film The Rest of the World remains (1991). She has been working as a freelance director since 1991. She also directed the dialogue for her 13-part television series Magna Aura - The Sunken City with Gunter Schoß in the lead role. The director Sarina Hassine shot the making-of short film for the production.

Popow was a speaker at the Film Music Days Saxony-Anhalt in 2013 .
