Sylvie Testud (born January 17, 1971 in Lyon ) is a French actress .

Life

Sylvie Testud became famous in 1996 in the role of Lara in Caroline Link's film Beyond Silence . She played a daughter of deaf parents who fell for music. For this, Testud received the film tape in gold at the 1997 German Film Prize for the best performance.

Three years later she was nominated for the European Film Awards for Best Actress for her role in Die Gefangene (2000) .

Sylvie Testud (2008)

In 2004 she received the César for best actress for her role as Amélie in Stupeur et tremblements by Alain Corneau , a film adaptation of the novel With Amazement and Trembling . In 2009 she played the leading role in the film Lourdes , in which she played a young woman suffering from multiple sclerosis who experienced a “miraculous healing” on a pilgrimage to the eponymous French pilgrimage site . This portrayal earned her the European Film Prize . In addition to her native French, Testud speaks fluent Spanish, which earned her the role of Swiss doctor Henriette Faber in the Cuban historical drama "Insumisas".

Testud has also been writing books for a number of years, some of which deal with her life as an actress. After the autobiographical title Il n'y a pas beaucoup d'étoiles ce soir (2003) some novels by Fayard were published by her. She has two children, a son born in 2005 and a daughter born in 2011.
