Olivier Dahan
Olivier Dahan (born June 26, 1967 in La Ciotat ) is a French film director .
Dahan studied art in Marseille from 1987 to 1991 . After graduating, he worked as a freelance painter and directed music videos for artists such as Zucchero and The Cranberries . He has been making short films since 1989 , his first feature film Déjà mort was released in 1998.
With the Luc Besson production Die purple rivers 2 - The Angels of the Apocalypse , he devoted himself to the thriller genre in 2004; He celebrated his international breakthrough as a film director in 2007 with the biopic La vie en rose about the life of Édith Piaf . The film had its world premiere as the opening film of the Berlinale 2007 . Leading actress Marion Cotillard was awarded an Oscar in 2008 for portraying Edith Piaf .
In 2014, Grace of Monaco was released, a film about Grace Kelly starring Nicole Kidman , Tim Roth and Frank Langella .
