Robert Gossett

Robert Gossett (born March 3, 1954 in Bronx , New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Robert Gossett's first real job after high school was in the production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest . After that, Gossett made appearances on Broadway. Since 1987, he has made numerous guest appearances in series, including Back to the Past , LA Law Star Attorneys, Tricks, Trials , Melrose Place , Diagnosis: Murder , Beverly Hills, 90210 , A Heavenly Family , Charmed, and For All Cases Amy . He was also seen between 1992 and 1993 for 15 episodes in Palm Beach Duo and in 2001 in 19 episodes of the soap opera Passions . This was followed by various other appearances in series such as Police Report Los Angeles , New York Cops - NYPD Blue , Crossing Jordan - Pathologist with profile and Bones - The bone hunter . In 2005 he finally got his first major leading role in the TNT series The Closer alongside Kyra Sedgwick . There he played the role of Commander Russel Taylor until the end of the series in 2012 . He played this role in the associated spin-off Major Crimes until 2016 . He was also seen in Emergency Room for two episodes in 2008 .

Robert Gossett is a cousin of the actor Louis Gossett Jr. . He is married to theater director Michelle Gossett.
