Sister, Sister is an American sitcom that ran on ABC from 1994 to 1995 and then on The WB until 1999 . The series comprises a total of 119 episodes in six seasons. The main characters are Tia and Tamera Mowry , who play a pair of twins who were separated at birth and who meet again in their teens. In Germany, the series ran from 1996 on ProSieben and DF1 , and from 2003 on Junior .
The series was created by Kim Bass and is a production of De Passe Entertainment and Paramount Network Television . For their portrayals in Sister, Sister , Tia and Tamera Mowry were each voted the most popular television actresses at the annual Nick Kids' Choice Awards from 1995 to 1997 and received an Image Award for Best Comedy Series Leading Actresses in 1999 and 2000 . Supporting actor Marques Houston won a Young Artist Award in 1995 in the Best Youth Comedian in a TV Show category .
Sister, Sister shares a series universe with Smart Guy . In this sitcom, Tahj Mowry , the brother of Tia and Tamera Mowry, plays the highly intelligent TJ Henderson . He also appears in this role in episode 81 ( A Child's Play ) of Sister, Sister .

Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell are twins who were given up for adoption as babies. The hardworking and intelligent student Tia lives in Detroit with her adoptive mother Lisa, a seamstress . Tamera, who is more interested in boys and parties, lives with her widowed foster father Ray, a luxury limousine rental company, in a wealthy suburb. When the two girls meet by chance in a department store at the age of 14, they decide that they will stay together forever and the two families move in together. The annoying neighbor boy Roger is also happy, who falls in love with the two sisters, but only meets with rejection. Towards the end of the series, the mechanic Tyreke and the college student Jordan are introduced as steadfast friends of Tia and Tamera.

The first episode of Sister, Sister aired on ABC on April 1, 1994. There she ran until the end of the second season on April 28, 1995. Then the series switched to The WB, where the broadcast began on September 6, 1995 and ended with the last episode on May 23, 1999.
In Germany, the sitcom was first broadcast on ProSieben from March 23, 1996, and from October also on DF1. ProSieben ended the broadcast in October 1997 and DF1 after further new episodes in March 1998. Between August 2003 and November 2004 Junior then showed all 119 episodes in the German version for the first time.
