Paul Reiser (born March 30, 1956 in New York , New York ) is an American actor and author.

Life

Reiser graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York City and received his BA from Binghamton University , where he focused on music (primarily piano playing and composing). He played in numerous theater productions at his university.

He started his career as a stand-up comedian . In 1986 he was best known for his role as an unscrupulous corporate employee in James Cameron's Aliens: The Return of a wider public. But also by he helped develop TV series Mad About You ( Engl. : Mad About You), where he alongside Helen Hunt played a major role, he became popular. The series was so successful that Reiser and Hunt each got $ 1 million per episode in the final season in 1999 . For the series he contributed the title song Final Frontier , which he recorded with Don Was .

He is also making a name for himself as an author. To date he has written three books called Couplehood , Babyhood (German: One Father's Day is More Beautiful Than Another ) and Familyhood . The books were on the American bestseller lists for weeks.

He has been married to Paula Ravets since August 21, 1988 , with whom he has two sons and lives in Los Angeles .
