Reviews
James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews that as a viewer, you shouldn't expect a lot of content or depth. The few questions asked in the film are not answered satisfactorily. Berardinelli praised the "hilarious" scenes with Randy Quaid and Janeane Garofalo, which would complement each other "perfectly". The film promotes way too much for the McDonald's restaurant chain.
Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on March 17, 1995 that the film was a "sappy sitcom" that would pass as a heartfelt story about three divorced fathers. But not one of the characters is emotionally complex or particularly clever.
Awards
Janeane Garofalo was nominated for the American Comedy Award in 1996.
background
The film was shot in California , including Los Angeles and Pasadena . It grossed approximately $ 12.1 million in US cinemas.
