Johnny Whitworth (born October 31, 1975 in Charleston , South Carolina ) is an American actor.

Life

Whitworth grew up as a divorced child in his birthplace with his mother. He later moved to live with his father in Dallas, Texas. At the age of 18 he tried his hand at acting in Los Angeles, where he made his debut in a guest role in the hit TV series Party of Five .

He made his film debut in 1995 in the film Bye Bye Love . In the same year he also played the character of AJ in the film The Empire Team . After a short creative break, he returned to the big screen in the Grisham film The Rainmaker . He also got a recurring role on the CBS series CSI: Miami , where he appeared as seedy detective Jake Berkeley, who had a liaison with Calleigh Duquenese. This was remarkable in that his rival for the investigator's favor was incumbent CSI agent Eric Delko. From the end of season five to the end of season six, Berkeley was no longer an ATF agent, but a Miami homicide investigator who worked with the CSI team. In the first episode of the seventh season, the character returned once more. In 2007 Whitworth starred alongside Christian Bale and Russell Crowe in the film Death Train to Yuma , and in 2009 with Gerard Butler in the action film Gamer .
