life and career

Her Albanian father, who comes from Korça , and her Danish mother Judith are university professors. Her mother teaches political science at Suffolk University in Boston. Eliza Dushku was raised in the Mormon faith .

Dushku began her film career in That Night at the age of ten . She gained experience at the Watertown Children's Theater early on . As the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies , she was seen at the age of 14.

In 1996, Dushku took a two year hiatus to graduate from Watertown High School. Then she wanted to start her studies. But when she got the role of Faith Lehane in Buffy - The Vampire Slayer and later as a supporting actress in Angel - Hunters of Darkness , she decided to postpone it for the time being in order to devote herself entirely to her film career. After the great success of Girls United in 2000 at the side of Kirsten Dunst , she stood in front of the camera for smaller television appearances.

In 2003, Dushku began filming Tru Calling , her first series , in which she plays Tru Davis, a student who works at night in a morgue and changes the fate of people who have died by reliving the dead for days and trying to save those who died innocently . However, due to lack of success, the series was canceled after a few episodes of the second season.

To combat her stage fright, she played earlier plays for the deaf , because they dominated next several musical instruments , the sign language . In winter 2005/2006 she performed in New York City in the off-Broadway -Stück Dog Lake God on.

In 2008 Dushku co-developed his new television series with Joss Whedon Dollhouse , which was produced for FOX and premiered in February 2009. Dushku played the main role, Echo , a so-called "doll" who remains in childlike ignorance until someone hires her for an assignment of any kind. The Dollhouse is the organization that Echo programs for an order and then ensures that Echo cannot remember anything. This premise allowed Dushku to play a variety of different roles over the course of the series according to the assignments, and should still give her an opportunity for long-term character development, as Echo begins to develop a sense of self. In January 2010, however, the series was canceled after the second season.
