Lindsay Crouse
Lindsay Ann Crouse (born May 12, 1948 in New York ) is an American actress .
Life and accomplishments
Her father, Russell Crouse, was a screenwriter . Lindsay Crouse graduated from Radcliffe College in 1970 .
She made her debut in the television drama The Tenth Stage (1975) opposite William Shatner . In the film drama The Untouchables (1976) by Alan J. Pakula she played a small supporting role on the side of Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford . In the comedy Between the Lines (1977) she played one of the bigger roles alongside John Heard and Jeff Goldblum . Also in 1977 she had a supporting role as the wife of an ice hockey player in the film Slap Shot with Paul Newman .
In the film drama A Place in the Heart (1984), Crouse took on one of the bigger roles alongside Sally Field and Ed Harris , for which she was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress in 1985. In the SF film drama The Visitors (1989), she played the wife of a writer (played by Christopher Walken ) who is convinced that the aliens had carried out medical experiments with him. In the thriller 24 hours in his violence (1990) she played an FBI agent who pursues the kidnapper Michael Bosworth ( Mickey Rourke ), who brings the Cornell family ( Anthony Hopkins and Mimi Rogers ) into his power. In the television drama House of Silent Screams (1996) she starred alongside Cher , Anne Heche , Jada Pinkett Smith and Rita Wilson .
Lindsay Crouse was married to David Mamet from 1977 to 1990 , with whom she has two daughters. In 1998 she married the film editor and director Rick Blue.
