Remington Steele is an American television series that was produced from 1982 to 1987. The main actors were Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele and Stephanie Zimbalist in the role of Laura Holt .
action
Laura Holt is a private investigator who attributes her failure to the fact that she is a woman. Finally, Laura comes up with the idea of renaming her detective agency “Remington Steele” and suggests to her clients that an ominous male investigator by that name is the actual owner of the company. The idea succeeds, but one day a man appears out of nowhere who a customer in the first episode thinks is Steele. Laura finally agrees that he will now play the role of Remington Steele. In the course of the program, the search for Steele's true identity continues. In the end, the mystery of Steele's father is solved, while Steele's identity is not clarified.
Production history
A total of 94 episodes were shot, four seasons with 22 episodes each from 1982 to 1986 and three double episodes as the fifth season in 1987. The English episode titles all contain as a play on words either: Steele, Steeled or Steeling.
Due to falling audience ratings, the series should be discontinued after the fourth season. However, when it became known that Pierce Brosnan was being discussed as Roger Moore's successor for the role of James Bond , public interest in the series rose again. This prompted the show's producers to shoot a fifth season, initially preventing Brosnan from being cast for James Bond. After Timothy Dalton played the British agent twice, Brosnan was finally able to take on the role in 1995. But not only Pierce Brosnan had to give up the already promised role. Stephanie Zimbalist also had to cancel her role in Robocop .
