Robert Butler (director)
Robert Butler (born November 16, 1927 in Los Angeles ) is an American director and film producer .
Live and act
Robert Butler has directed several television series including Bonanza , Batman , Starship Enterprise , The Waltons , Remington Steele , Superman - The Adventures of Lois & Clark and Columbo . Occasionally he appeared in television series, including Remington Steele as a producer (producer) and executive producer (line producer ).
In addition, Robert Butler has directed a number of movies, especially for the Disney studios . Most of these were Kurt Russell's early films , banal college comedies in which Russell starred as Dexter Reilly . They were typical representatives of the anti- establishment comedies such as those produced by the Disney studios in the late 1960s and early 1970s - comparable to the German Die Lümmel von der Erste Bank film series, which was made at the same time . More ambitious, but unsuccessful at the box office, was the late- western cowboy John - The Last Hero in the Wild West ( Scandalous John , 1971) with Brian Keith in the title role.
Awards
Robert Butler was nominated five times for the Emmy Award, which he won in 1981 for the pilot in the series Hill Street Police Station . Seven years earlier he was twice awarded the prize for the television film The Blue Knight .
