The director in this Disney production led Robert Butler , the screenplay wrote Joseph L. McEveety and Robert L. King . The main role was played by Kurt Russell . The alternative title is The Invisible Supertype .

The chemistry student Dexter Reilly develops a spray that makes you invisible. Since his college is in financial difficulties, Reilly announces his invention of a competition in which 50,000 US dollars to be won.

Two gangsters steal the spray and use the invention for a large-scale theft of the money. The police are tracking the thieves' invisible car, and the students are blocking the street so that the car goes into the swimming pool of a house. There the car and the thieves become visible again, the criminals are arrested.

The spray container is submitted on time, the invention wins the prize. Reilly promises to make a new lucrative invention next year.
