A Martinez (* 27. September 1948 in Glendale , California as Adolph Larrue Martinez ) is an American actor .

Life & Career

Its nickname A results from an internal family name, since the father and grandfather already bore the name Adolph and he was initially called Little A and later simply A. At the age of twelve he sang in a talent competition at the Hollywood Bowl . He graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, Los Angeles. He discovered his love of acting while acting at UCLA . He made his acting debut in The Young Animals in 1968 . Several appearances in films and television productions followed. For the portrayal of Cruz Castillo in the US soap opera California Clan from 1984 to 1992 , he won the Emmy in 1990 and the Soap Opera Digest Award in 1988, 1990 and 1991. A Martinez played in LA Law from 1990 to 1994 . Since 2012 he has played the casino owner Jacob Nighthorse in the Longmire series .

A Martinez was first married to the actress Mare Winningham . He has been married to Leslie Bryans since 1982 . The couple have two daughters and one son.
