Rendezvous with life (OT: The Book of Love) is an American film drama made in 2016. Directed by Bill Purple are Jason Sudeikis , Maisie Williams and Jessica Biel seen in the lead roles.

With the accidental death of his pregnant wife Penny, a world collapses for the architect Henry. Following a request from his late wife, he gets in touch with the homeless teenager Millie, who often searches the trash for junk in Henry's neighborhood. Millie plans to use the scrap to build a raft that she will use to find her father who has disappeared at sea and of whom she only has a diary left. She initially rejects Henry, but soon allows him to help her build the raft. This in turn helps him over the loss of his wife. Henry finds out that Millie was an eyewitness to Penny's accident and was with her when she died. He is angry at first that Millie has kept this from him, but then ultimately grateful that Penny was not alone at the moment of her death. In the end, Henry and Millie set out on the raft together.

The film had its world premiere on April 14, 2016 under the title The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea at the Tribeca Film Festival . On January 13, 2017, it was released in US cinemas under the title The Book of Love .

The score was composed by Justin Timberlake and Mitchell Owens .

Chloë Grace Moretz was initially planned for the role of Millie .
