Gordon Clapp
Gordon Clapp (born September 24, 1948 in North Conway , New Hampshire ) is an American actor and Emmy Prize winner. He is best known for the role of Detective Greg Medavoy in all twelve seasons of the television series New York Cops - NYPD Blue .
Life
With degrees from Williams College and The National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center (fall 1970), Clapp, who was born and raised in North Conway , New Hampshire , starred in various television series such as Check It Out! and Harry's Miraculous Criminal Court, and in four films directed by John Sayles .
Gordon Clapp also appears on various theater stages. On Broadway , he played in David Mamet 's Pulitzer Prize- winning play Glengarry Glen Ross (German also: Hillside Ocean View ) and was nominated for a Tony Award for "Best Actor" .
Already in 1987 Clapp played under the direction of John Sayles, in the film Matewan he portrayed the vile detective Griggs . In 1988 Clapp portrayed in the film Eight Men and a Scandal (Original: Eight Men Out ) with his portrayal of the Chicago White Sox - catcher “Cracker “ Ray Schalk is a real person. In 1995, Clapp portrayed the priest Father Paul in Flames of Death (Original: Her Hidden Truth ). In the war drama Flags of Our Fathers (2006) - director: Clint Eastwood , Gordon Clapp plays the role of the United States Marine Corps - General Holland “Howlin 'Mad' Smith again follows a real figure. In 2007 Gordon Clapp played the coach Mad Maddox in the comedy film Daddy Without a Plan (Original: The Game Plan ) - Director: Andy Fickman , opposite Dwayne Johnson and Kyra Sedgwick . Also in 2007, Clapp speaks the clown in the original of the horror film Drive-Thru Horny .
In the television series Criminal Minds , Clapp appears as Detective Dick Walenski (original episode: In Birth and Death ). In a 2008 episode of Cold Case , Clapp played a corrupt police officer.
Clapp also played in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode The Stone Walker . Clapp plays the father of lawyer Ellen Parson ( Rose Byrne ) in the FX television series Damages - Im Netz der Macht .
In the video game Prototype , Clapp plays the lead role of General Peter Randall .
