John Bedford Lloyd

John Bedford Lloyd (born January 2, 1956 in New Haven , Connecticut ) is an American actor .

Life

Bedford Lloyd attended the Yale School of Drama and then moved to Manhattan to pursue an acting career. He made his feature film debut in 1983 in a supporting role in the comedy The Soldiers of Fortune by John Landis . This was followed by guest appearances on television series such as Remington Steele and Spenser . In 1985 he played one of the leading roles in the Hometown series , but this was discontinued after ten episodes. He had major supporting roles in Norman Mailer's film noir Tough Men Don't Dance in 1987 and two years later in James Cameron's science fiction film Abyss .

In the 1990s he starred alongside Forest Whitaker and Seymour Cassel in Nobody Get Out Of Here Alive and had a small supporting role in the Oscar-winning drama Philadelphia . In 1996 he got the lead role in the Henson Creature Shop - sitcom Aliens in the Family , which was discontinued after eight episodes. His other roles included appearances in the Robert Ludlum film adaptation The Bourne Conspiracy and Jonathan Demmes The Manchurian Candidate . He made his Broadway debut in Some Americans Abroad in 1990 . He had further engagements from 1999 to 2000 in The Rainmaker and in 2003 in Tartuffe .

Bedford Lloyd has been married to actress Anne Twomey since 1986 and has two children.
