Jami Beth Gertz (born October 28, 1965 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress .

life and career

Gertz made her acting debut in 1981 in the film Endlose Liebe by Franco Zeffirelli , in which the later Hollywood star Tom Cruise also made his screen debut . Greater recognition she received for her role in sub-zero on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis at the side of Robert Downey Jr. and James Spader . In addition to roles in films such as Jersey Girl (1992) and Twister (1996), she made a name for herself primarily as a series actress. So she played recurring roles in Emergency Room and Ally McBeal . For the latter, she was nominated for an Emmy in 2001. In the sitcom Still Standing (2002-2006) she was cast alongside Mark Addy for the female lead of Judy Miller .

Gertz has been married to Antony Ressler since June 16, 1989 and has three sons with him (* 1992, * 1995 and * 1998).
