Sławomir Wojciechowski [ swavɔmir vɔjʨiɛxɔfski ] (born September 6, 1973 in Gdansk ), nicknamed "Wojciech", is a former Polish football player .
Career
societies
The offensive midfielder with the strong left foot began his professional career at the second division Lechia Gdańsk , where he made his debut in 1989 at the age of 15. At the beginning of the 1993/94 season Wojciechowski joined the first division club Zawisza Bydgoszcz , but could not prevent relegation at the end of the season. After half a year in the second division, he joined GKS Katowice in the winter of 1994/95 and thus returned to the upper house of Polish football. In this he completed 100 league games by 1998, in which he scored 30 goals.
Then Wojciechowski moved to Switzerland for the first division club FC Aarau . From there he was signed by the German record champions FC Bayern Munich during the winter break of the 1999/2000 season . On February 12, 2000 (20th match day) he made his debut in the 2-0 win in the away game against SpVgg Unterhaching , when he came on in the 91st minute for Paulo Sérgio .
On April 8, 2000 (28th matchday) he scored his only Bundesliga goal with the goal to make it 4-0 in the 85th minute in the home game against SSV Ulm 1846 . For his three appearances in the league game, he was substituted on once in the game for the DFB Cup (3-2 home win over Hansa Rostock ) and in the Champions League (0-2 defeat at Dynamo Kiev ) in the starting line-up. In the following season, "Wojciech" was only used in one game against the lower-class FC Schönberg 95 in the DFB Cup and once in the league cup . Due to a lack of match practice, he left FC Bayern Munich and returned to FC Aarau, for which he played half a season.
Then he joined the Polish first division club RKS Radomsko , who, however, had to relegate at the end of the season. Wojciechowski initially found no sporting home and remained without a club until December 2003. At the beginning of 2004 he signed a contract with his former club Lechia Gdańsk, which after a new start in the sixth division in 2001 had now reached the fourth highest division. At the end of the season, the club was promoted to the third division, the direct march into the second Polish division followed.
After the 2006/07 season, Wojciechowski left the second division and then returned to Germany , where he was under contract for one season with the association division (5th division; Middle Rhine) SCB Viktoria Cologne . In March 2008, he was suspended for ten weeks for alleged assault - the apparently fouled player stated that he had not been fouled. After he was without a contract following this engagement until September 2008, he signed for one season with the Polish third division club Olimpia Grudziądz for which he played 18 league games. He played his last professional appearance on June 6, 2009 (30th matchday) in a 5-1 win at home against Polonia Nowy Tomyśl .
Since 2009 Wojciechowski has played in the "old men team" of Lechia Gdańsk, the club where his career began.
National team
From May 17 to 27, 1990 he took part with the U-16 national team in the European Championship in the GDR and on May 27 in Erfurt with a 3-2 victory over Portugal, he came third . 1997 Wojciechowski played four times for the senior team . He made his debut on February 14 in Warsaw in a goalless draw in the international test match against the national team from Lithuania . Then he came on February 17th in Derynia ( Cyprus ) in a 3-2 win against the national team of Latvia , on May 22nd in Solna in a 2-2 draw against Sweden and on September 24th in Olsztyn with a 2: 0 victory against the selection of Lithuania for use.
