Sławomir Wojciechowski (military)

Sławomir Wojciechowski (born September 30, 1962 in Węgorzyno ) is a Polish military with the rank of lieutenant general . Since 2018 he has been the commander of the Multinational Corps North-East in Szczecin.

Life

In 1987 he finished the Wyższa Szkoła Oficerska Wojsk Obrony Przeciwlotniczej (Higher Air Defense Officer School) in Koszalin . From 1988 to 1993 he worked at this school as a platoon leader and head of an officer candidate unit. From 1993 to 1995 he attended the Academy of National Defense in Warsaw. From 1995 to 1997 he was the commander of an air defense squadron in the 3rd Tank Brigade in Trzebiatów . From 1997 to 1999 he was also in the two successor formations 36th Panzer Brigade and 36th Mechanized Brigade in Trzebiatów as commander of the air defense.

From 1999 to 2007 he was first deputy commander and then commander of the 4th air defense regiment in Zielona Góra . During this time he attended the Joint Services Command and Staff College in Shrivenham, UK (District Vale of White Horse ) in 2001 and the NATO School in Oberammergau in 2002 . From 2004 to 2005 he was Chief of Staff in the Central-South Zone in Iraq (MND-CS). In 2007 he was training supervisor at the 11th Armored Cavalry Division in Żagań .

In 2008 he attended the US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks . From 2008 to 2012 he was the commander of the 17th Mechanized Brigade in Międzyrzecz . During this time he led the European Union's Battlegroup I-2010 in the first half of 2010 and was the commander of the White Eagle Task Force in Afghanistan in 2011 .

From 2012 to 2013 he was Deputy Head of Department J3 in the Polish General Staff . From 2013 to 2015 he worked in the Department of Strategy and Defense Planning of the Polish Ministry of Defense . From 2015 to 2016 he was Deputy Operational Commander and from 2017 to 2018 Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces (Dowódca Operacyjny Rodzajów Sił Zbrojnych). In between there were study visits to the US Army War College in the Carlisle Barracks and to the Academy of Martial Arts in Warsaw in 2017 . Since 2018 he has succeeded Manfred Hofmann as the commander of the Multinational Corps North-East in Szczecin.
