Lisa Bonet
Lisa Bonet (* 16th November 1967 as Lisa Michelle Bonet in San Francisco , California ) is an American actress . She is best known for her role as Denise Huxtable in the television series The Bill Cosby Show , which she also played in the offshoot College Fever .
life and work
Lisa Bonet was born in San Francisco to an African-American father and American mother of Jewish faith and grew up in New York and Los Angeles for most of her childhood .
At the age of eleven, she appeared in commercials. In 1984 she was hired for the role of Denise Huxtable in the television series The Bill Cosby Show .
In 1987 Bonet played Epiphany in Angel Heart on the side of Mickey Rourke , for whose performance she won a Young Artist Award in 1988 . The explicit sex scenes were censored before the premiere and changed accordingly. But what was left of it still got her in a lot of trouble and led to her retirement from the Cosby Show . In the same year she married the singer Lenny Kravitz . On his debut album Let Love Rule Bonet is named as a co-author of some pieces, for the first single she took over the direction. In June 1991 she also worked as a director and worked with Prince . Bonet made a music video for his song Walk Don't Walk , which can be found on the album Diamonds and Pearls . Ultimately, Prince didn't release the music video.
Bill Cosby wrote her own series for her, so to speak. In A Different World (in the original: A Different World ) (1987-1993) focused on the life of the adult "Huxtable" children after their separation. After the first season, Bonet dropped out of the series because it was too unreliable to the producers.
After a few years of abstinence from the screen, Bonet appeared on the side of Will Smith in The Public Enemy No. 1 in 1998 . In 2000 the role of Marie de Salle in High Fidelity followed .
Her daughter Zoë Kravitz (* 1988) emerged from her marriage to Lenny Kravitz . The couple separated in 1991 and divorced in 1993. Kravitz processed the separation from Bonet in the song It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over . Bonet has another daughter (* 2007) and a son (* 2008) with the actor Jason Momoa , with whom she has been married since 2017.
