Sabrina Le Beauf

Sabrina Le Beauf (born March 21, 1958 in New Orleans , Louisiana ) is an American actress . The daughter of an African American and a white mother of English origin grew up in Los Angeles. Le Beauf was married to Michael Reynolds from 1987 to 1996. Today she lives in New York.

Le Beauf studied at Yale University 's School of Drama , among others . There she was a classmate of Angela Bassett .

Le Beauf became known for her portrayal of the Sondra Huxtable in the US sitcom The Bill Cosby Show . There she plays the daughter of Phylicia Rashad (Claire Huxtable), who is just ten years her senior . The then 21-year-old Whitney Houston had applied for this role , but 26-year-old LeBeauf finally got the role. Her appearance has repeatedly given rise to controversial discussions among fans of the series. Since she has a lighter skin color because of her origins, it was difficult for many to see her as the daughter of their two African American serial parents.
