Keshia Knight Pulliam (born April 9, 1979 in Newark , New Jersey ) is an American actress of Jamaican origin.

Life and roles

Keshia Knight Pulliam became known through the sitcom The Bill Cosby Show . On the show she plays Rudy , the youngest daughter of the Huxtable family.

She is listed as No. 19 on the VH1 list of the "100 Greatest Kid Stars". On May 20, 2001, she finished her sociology studies at Spelman College .

In addition to her role as Rudy Huxtable on the Bill Cosby show , Keshia Knight Pulliam took on a supporting role in the film The Last Dragon in 1984 . Two years later, in 1987, she got the role of Molly in The Girl with the Wonderwoods . In addition to some guest appearances in the Bill Cosby show offshoot A Different World (German: College-Fieber ), she played the leading role in the 1989 film Polly , in which Phylicia Rashad , who is her mother on the Bill Cosby show , was involved. In the same year she got in the film A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (German: Zeitsprung in die Tafelrunde ) the lead role of Karen . In 1990, in the sequel to Polly , Polly: Comin 'Home! , again starring Polly .

Until her next appearance in the film What About Your Friends: Weekend Getaway in 2002, she had no appearance in a movie. In this film, however, she played Temple , the lead role. In the film Motives (from 2004) she had a supporting role with the role of Letrice . In the same year she was in Christmas at Water's Edge in the lead role, Leila Turner s, and in Chingys' video One Callaway to see. In 2005 she starred in the two films Beauty Shop and The Gospel . In both films she only got a supporting role (In The Gospel : Maya Walker , in Beauty Shop : Darnelle ). In the film Cuttin Da Mustard (2006), Keshia Knight Pulliam (also just called Keshia Knight in some opening credits) plays the role of Wendy , again a supporting role. In 2007 she took on the role of Miranda Payne in the TBS drama-comedy series Tyler Perry's House of Payne . In 2009 she took on the lead role of Candy in the comedy-drama film Madea Goes To Jail , directed by Tyler Perry . On March 19, 2013, she took part in the reality game show Splash from ABC , but was eliminated in the preliminary round.
