New in Paradise (Original Title: Bunheads ) is an American television series that aired on ABC Family from 2012 to 2013 .

action

Former Las Vegas showgirl Michelle Simms marries wealthy and diehard admirer Hubbell on a whim. Together they move to his hometown, the fictional coastal town of Paradise, California. There she got a job as a dance teacher in her mother-in-law Fanny's dance school. She quickly makes friends with her ballet students.

production

In September 2010, the broadcaster ordered a script from Amy Sherman-Palladino for the pilot film Strut . However, since no suitable actress could be found for the lead role, the pilot was put on hold. A year later, the Sherman-Palladino project was ordered again, but with a slightly different focus. In October 2011 it was announced that Sutton Foster had gotten the lead role.

In February 2012 they ordered ten episodes of the series, which was increased by a further eight episodes in mid-August. After 18 episodes, the discontinuation of the series was announced on July 22, 2013, after its future had hung for a very long time.

The original title Bunheads is derived from the English word for Dutt (English: bun ).
