Jack McGee (born February 2, 1949 in New York City ) is an American actor .

The Irish-born Jack McGee was in the southern 1949 Bronx born in New York City and was the youngest of eight siblings. After he was, among other things, the background singer with The Rascals , he first became a firefighter in 1977 and then pursued his acting career.

McGee played his first major role in the 1985 American movie The Rascal , which is about firefighters. Since then, the former firefighter has appeared in various television series , television films and movies . Greater popularity brought McGee the role of fire station manager Jerry Reilly , which he impersonated from 2004 to 2007 in the television series Rescue Me .

After McGee contracted colon cancer and defeated the disease, he became involved in various associations and organizations that campaign for the fight, cure and research of cancer, such as the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the American Cancer Society .
