Jeff Toyne

Jeffrey William Toyne (born January 7, 1975 in Sault Ste. Marie , Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian composer .

Life

Jeff Toyne studied composition at the University of Western Ontario and completed the master class, also in composition, at the University of British Columbia . He then moved to Los Angeles , where he continued his education at the Henry Mancini Institute . He played with composers such as Jerry Goldsmith , Manny Albam , Michael Abene , Bob Florence , Jim McNeely , Alf Clausen and Horace Silver , expanding his musical spectrum to include jazz, blues and pop music. After another year of study at the University of Southern California , which he finished in 2001, he then began to work for the composer Ed Shearmur .

Toyne made his debut as a composer for a feature film in 1998 with Maxwell's Demon . Since then he has been primarily into the music of television films like Who is Clark Rockefeller? and Magic Beyond Words - The Magical Story of JK Rowling, for which he received a nomination for the Canadian TV Gemini Award for Best Composer.
