Ray Romano
Raymond Albert "Ray" Romano (born December 21, 1957 in Queens , New York ) is an American actor and comedian of Italian descent.
Life
Romano was best known in Germany for his portrayal of the title role in the television series Alle liebe Raymond , which he co-produced and which made him the highest-paid television actor of all time in 2004 with an annual salary of fifty million US dollars . In 2001, he was first on the list of top twenty and entertainers performed, done annually by the US - cable operators E! Entertainment television . Romano also had guest appearances on the sitcom King of Queens . He also appeared in the Simpsons as Homer's best friend.
Before entering show business, Romano initially planned to become an accountant. He is involved in the New York Police Department , where his brother holds the rank of sergeant. Romano appeared in a special edition of the quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on, his winnings of $ 125,000 donated to the New York Police Department's Drug Education Department. In 2001, he and his brother were featured on a billboard recruiting for the police.
Romano is married to Anna Scarpulla; the couple has four children, including a pair of twins. He is not related to the actor Larry Romano . In 2008 Romano played in the World Series of Poker , where he finished 39th.
