Ice Age - Collision Ahead! (AKA Ice Age: Collision Course ) is an American computer-animated action - comedy film from the year 2016 , which is also in 3D will be demonstrated. This film is the fifth in the Ice Age film series. It was produced by Blue Sky Studios and is distributed by 20th Century Fox . The release date for the United States was July 22, 2016, in Germany the film was released on June 30, 2016.

In an attempt to get to an elusive acorn, Scrat is catapulted into space and accidentally triggers a series of cosmic events that lead to climate changes on Earth and now threaten the Ice Age world. The young woolly mammoth Peaches wants to marry Julian and move away from her family with him, which her father Manni doesn't like at all. Manni and his wife Ellie celebrate their wedding anniversary. During the celebration, meteorites crash to the earth. In the underground dinosaur world, the weasel Buck saves dinosaur eggs from the Dromaeosauridae . While fleeing from the dinosaurs, Buck discovers a stone tablet that explains the end of the world through a meteorite impact. A short time later he comes to the surface and tells the other mammals about it. You immediately make your way to the first crash site. Buck discovers purple stones that are magnetically charged and attract the large asteroid . Ellie and Manni want to make it clear to Peaches and Julian that it would be bad to walk away from them, and Manni tries to befriend Julian. When Sid the sloth's grandmother disappears one night, the friends discover the magical world of Geotopia, where everyone stays young. They seek help from the spiritual leader, Shangri Llama. But he cannot help them. Sid falls in love with the sloth Brooke, but when Sid tries to give her a gift made of a crystal, the world collapses and everyone in Geotopia gets older. Buck comes up with the idea of pouring all the crystals into an active volcano in order to chase them into space. They just manage to deflect the huge meteorite. In the end, Peaches and Julian get married.
Meanwhile, Scrat ensures that life on Mars is extinguished.

In November 2015 the short film Scrat-Tastrophe in Space was released , in which Scrat's search for his glans in space is shown and thus tells the prehistory that led to changes in the solar system and the events in Ice Age - Collision ahead! sets in motion. In addition, this film has been shown as a supporting film for The Peanuts since November 6th .
synchronization
The German synchronization was based on a dialogue book by Michael Nowka under his dialogue direction on behalf of Berliner Synchron AG . On April 26, 2016, Arne Elsholtz died , who took over the speaking role of the mammoth Manfred "Manni" in the previous four parts and short films . Manni is now spoken by Thomas Nero Wolff in the fifth part .

On the Rotten Tomatoes page, only 16 of the 106 reviews listed were positive about the film (as of March 21, 2017).
Carsten Baumgardt from Filmstarts called Ice Age - collision ahead! as a "patchwork with a touch of story", in which "with a firework of wild birds mixed together crazy ideas" are attempted to "hide the blatant narrative weaknesses." With "the sheer number of hectically bustling secondary characters" the film becomes one "Barrage of mostly randomly appearing slapstick inserts."
Michael Pilz from Die Welt is particularly impressed by the development of animation technology: “The animators show what they and their programs can now do: In the electron storms of the galactic magnetic fields, the creatures' hairstyles are overwhelmingly out of every imaginable shape and frame. The light falls wonderfully through amber pine forests, horsetail groves and rock crystals. You want to wipe the volcanic ash off your glasses and scoop the spring water with both hands. The meteorites also seem to give off their heat in the cinema. "

The film's worldwide revenues are currently over $ 408 million. The budget was $ 105 million, the highest budget of any Ice Age movie to date. So far, the film has seen over 2.9 million visitors in German cinemas and is 7th among the films launched in 2016 (as of August 13, 2017).
