Ice Age - Treasure of the Lost Egg (Original title: Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade ) is an American television - animated film by director Ricardo Curtis from the year 2016 . The first broadcast of the short film took place on March 20, 2016 on the US television channel Fox .

Three months after the events of Ice Age 4 - Fully Postponed, Manny and friends are preparing for Easter . It is spring and the breeding season . While mammoth Manni and saber-toothed tiger Diego pass the time watching animal fights, Ellie decorates for Easter . The opossum -Brüder Crash and Eddie the same time try in vain the first Manny and Ellie's daughter Peaches April Fool's playing. The sloth Sid offers currently as egg sitter on.
The former pirate rabbit Squint lived the last three months with his brother Clint in a building . When he sees Manny and his friends, he demands a new ship to replace the one destroyed in the previous film, in vain. When Sid falls asleep, he takes the opportunity and steals all the eggs. When this is noticed, the expectant mothers are excited and want their eggs again. They find a message that says that if a ship is not built, Squint will destroy all eggs. When Manni, Diego and Sid, the friends set out to get the missing eggs back, they get help from Clint, who hands them a map with the hiding places. Squint painted the eggs to better camouflage them. Nevertheless, the friends manage to find the eggs again and give them to the mothers. But one of the eggs is missing. Quint tries to blackmail the friends with it and demands a ship again.
Clint can ambush his brother. The friends discover the egg, but the squirrel Scrat steals it because it looks like an acorn . Only when Manni wipes away the paint does he give up the egg. But instead of giving it back to its rightful owner, Scrat throws it down a ravine. The friends jump behind. Sid and Squint are first at the egg and argue with each other. When the ice finally melts, Sid manages to hold onto the egg at the last second. Squint falls into one of Crash and Eddie's traps. Everyone spends Easter together. Sid suggests Clint as the Easter Bunny because he helped with the search. Only Squint is frustrated. He steals Scrat's nut basket and uses it as a boat, but it sinks.

In the film, actions from Ice Age 4 - Fully Postponed (2012) are partially continued. One scene features acts from Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) in which Manni, Sid and Diego fetch an egg from a temple and set off a trap, whereupon they are pursued in front of a huge stone ball.
The film was produced by Blue Sky Studios , House of Cool Studios and 20th Century Fox Animation .
