The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 1999 (KCA) found on 1 May 1999 in Pauley Pavilion on the campus of University of California in Los Angeles instead. It was the 12th US award of blimps . These are orange, zeppelin-shaped trophies with the logo of the broadcaster Nickelodeon , which were awarded in 17 categories. In addition, actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas received the golden Hall of Fame Award . The ceremony was hosted by Rosie O'Donnell , who took on this role for the third time in a row, after having assisted Whitney Houston in single-player games in 1996 .

Live performances

Britney Spears sang her track ... Baby One More Time , * NSYNC presented a medley of her songs Here We Go , I Want You Back and Tearin 'Up My Heart , and TLC performed on No Scrubs .

Slime showers

For amusement, some celebrities receive a green slime shower every year, which the broadcaster Nickelodeon sees as the highest appreciation. In 1999 it was the turn of the singer Chilli and the wrestlers Randy Savage and Stephanie Bellars.

Categories

It was possible to vote in 17 categories in advance online, by telephone and by post. In addition, voting slips could be filled out in the branches of the fast-food restaurant chain Burger King , which was the advertising partner of the award. The golden Hall of Fame Award , which was presented to Jonathan Taylor Thomas , was not up for voting . This award was given from 1991 to 2000 to a prominent person who was more famous than anyone else.
