action

The action takes place in 1985. Robbie Hart - who once had ambitious goals - is now a singer who sings at weddings and bar mitzvahs. He met Julia at one of these celebrations. Robbie himself is about to marry Linda, which however leaves him on the day of the wedding.

After this event, Robbie is depressed, which also affects his work. The wedding parties he sings at turn into a nightmare for the newlyweds as Robbie takes the opportunity to vent his frustrations publicly. At one of the weddings he gives a cynical speech, after which the party ends in a fight. Julia comforts Robbie and tries to find a partner for him. But then the two fall in love, although Julia is torn between her macho fiancé Glenn and the shy wedding singer Robbie.

Julia is supposed to marry her boyfriend Glenn in Las Vegas . Robbie finds out that Glenn has cheated on Julia several times and has no plans to stop after the wedding. Julia is unsure of her feelings but decides to marry Glenn in Las Vegas. Robbie flies first class on the same plane, where he meets Billy Idol and tells him his story. From a flight attendant who complains about a rowdy passenger, he learns that Glenn and Julia are on the same plane. Billy Idol helps Robbie, who meanwhile has the crew and some passengers on his side. Robbie sings a song about his love for Julia that can be heard through the loudspeakers. When Glenn notices that Robbie is singing for Julia and then discovers him, he wants to pounce on him, but is prevented from doing so by a steward who comes towards him with his drinks cart and overwhelmed by Billy Idol and a rocker and his people. Moved, Julia accepts Robbie's marriage proposal and they kiss deeply. The film ends with the wedding of the two.
