Life
Timothy Suhrstedt studied economics at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania before joining the American Film Institute as a student in 1976 . The following year he began working behind the camera. Initially, Suhrstedt photographed documentary, industrial and medical training films, but also early music videos.
Since the beginning of the 80 years as a director of photography in feature film, tim suhrstedt illustrated mostly B movies and inexpensively produced A-films for a young audience (and a.. Teenwolf , Critters - you are there , Mannequin and Pizza Pizza - A slice of heaven ). His later works, usually comedies, can usually be assigned to family entertainment, which is not too demanding.
Despite his intensive cinema activity, Suhrstedt has also made time for trips to television (for example the cult series Ally McBeal ) several times ; Between 2002 and 2005 he devoted himself completely to TV work ( Mister Sterling , The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire , Grey's Anatomy ).
At the beginning of 2005 he resumed his work for the cinema. The first work on his return was the Oscar- nominated, critically acclaimed self-discovery and road movie Little Miss Sunshine , an off-Hollywood production about the fragility of dreams, family ties and the American way of life .
