action

Gus Cantrell is an aging professional baseball player . He earns his living as a pitcher at a small provincial club. One day he gets an offer from an old friend to manage a triple-A team in minor league baseball . In doing so, he draws on the aging players of the Cleveland Indians . He helps Rube Baker to throw again, Pedro Cerrano is with the party and hits again and he brings back Taka Tanaka, who now has his own mini golf course. Even if the job wasn't easy and there were a lot of problems, Gus put the team back on the road to success.

criticism

“Baseball film that wants to combine humor with serious sport, but boycotts the transition to serious sport through the unspeakably silly portrayal of the team. Since unfairness and violence are stylized as legitimate means of sport, the propagated spirit of sport has to fall by the wayside. "
